When all is said and done, the real question regarding surplus water from Panhandle counties Roberts, Hemphill, Lipscomb and Ochiltree is when and where can this water help Texans the most.

Consider this:

  • In Region A, the average citizen uses roughly 1,467,000 gallons of
water or 4.5 acre feet per year.
  • In Region O, the average citizen uses roughly 2,249,400 gallons of
water or 6.9 acre feet per year.
  • In Region C and Region L, the average citizen uses roughly 82,000
gallons of water or .25 acre feet per year
